Myco Tox
The MycoTOX Profile is an advanced urine test that screens for exposure to mould and the toxins they produce.
It looks for eleven key mycotoxins originating from around forty different mould species commonly found in buildings, vehicles and even certain foods.
Because mycotoxins can pose both acute and chronic risks to neurological, immune, respiratory and liver health, this test offers a valuable insight into whether mould exposure may be contributing to ongoing symptoms.
This is a urine test.
The price covers the laboratory analysis only.
Please note: this is a results-only service. Your test report will be provided for your own review, and no consultation or personalised interpretation is included.
Biomarkers included:
Aflatoxin M1
Chaetoglobosin A
Citrinin (Dihydrocitrinone)
Enniatin B
Gliotoxin
Mycophenolic Acid
Ochratoxin A
Roridin E
Sterigmatocystin
Verrucarin A
Zearalenone
When is this test useful?
Mycotoxin exposure has been linked to a wide range of health issues. It may be worth considering this test when there are persistent or unexplained symptoms involving the neurological, respiratory, immune or gastrointestinal systems, or when there has been known or suspected damp or mould exposure.
Mycotoxins have been associated with conditions such as autism spectrum disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, asthma, sinusitis, chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, ADHD, recurrent infections, skin issues and liver dysfunction. Research has shown that individuals with chronic fatigue often have elevated urinary mycotoxins, highlighting how mould exposure can be easily overlooked.
This test helps clarify whether mycotoxins may be playing a role, offering guidance for next steps in management and remediation.
