Vitamin D Test
The Vitamin D Blood Spot profile is a simple finger-prick blood test that measures vitamin D2, vitamin D3, and total vitamin D levels to give a clear picture of your overall vitamin D status.
Because vitamin D is essential for bone strength, immune health, mood regulation and metabolic balance, assessing these levels can help identify deficiencies and guide steps to support long-term wellbeing.
Please note: this is a results-only service. Your test report will be provided for your own review, and no consultation or personalised interpretation is included.
Biomarkers included:
25-Hydroxyvitamin D (Total)
25-Hydroxyvitamin D2
25-Hydroxyvitamin D3
When is this test useful?
Testing vitamin D can be helpful when exploring issues related to low mood, fatigue, weakened immunity, bone and muscle health, inflammation or metabolic concerns.
Low vitamin D has been associated with cardiovascular issues, depression, diabetes, multiple sclerosis and certain neurocognitive symptoms.
This test offers a straightforward way to understand your levels and consider whether nutritional or lifestyle adjustments may be beneficial.
Preparation Instructions
Fasting for a blood test:
For the most accurate results, please fast for 8 hours before your blood draw. Morning appointments after an overnight fast are recommended.
Stay well hydrated:
Drink 2–3 litres of plain water the day before and at least 500ml 1–2 hours before your appointment. Good hydration helps improve the quality of your sample and makes the venous draw easier.
