Adrenal Stress Profile
Comprehensive Adrenal Stress + CAR
(Saliva Test – Results-Only Service)
This non-invasive saliva test provides a detailed assessment of your adrenal and HPA axis function, including the Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR), a key marker of how well your stress system adapts and responds upon waking.
It measures six cortisol levels across the day, plus DHEA and secretory IgA (sIgA) to give a broader picture of stress resilience, adrenal output, and mucosal immune function.
What this test looks for
- Cortisol across six time points (waking, 30 min, 60 min, noon, evening, night) to map your full diurnal rhythm.
- Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR): the rise in cortisol 30 minutes after waking, an important indicator of HPA adaptability. A reduced or exaggerated CAR may reflect chronic stress, burnout, or impaired resilience.
- DHEA: provides context for long-term adrenal function and stress tolerance.
- Secretory IgA (sIgA): your first line of immune defence along mucosal surfaces (gut, sinuses, respiratory passages). Levels often shift in response to chronic stress.
What this test can help you understand
- Fatigue, burnout and chronic stress patterns
- Difficulty waking, low morning energy, or afternoon crashes
- Insomnia or disrupted sleep patterns
- Mood changes, irritability, anxiety or overwhelm
- Recurrent infections or low immunity (via sIgA)
- Overstimulation or difficulty coping with stressors
- The impact of long-term stress on the HPA axis
When should you consider this test?
Choose this test if you want a comprehensive picture of your adrenal rhythm and stress biology, including your CAR, something not included in standard adrenal tests.
It is especially useful for individuals experiencing:
- Persistent fatigue
- Stress intolerance
- Sleep disturbances
- Immune weakness
- Burnout symptoms
- Mood instability
- Unexplained changes in energy or resilience
Sample type: Saliva (multiple timed collections)
Biomarkers measured: Cortisol (x6), DHEA, Secretory IgA
