Restoring Balance Through the Synergy of Nature and Science

If your health is frustrating you and your symptoms are causing you distress, then you are in the right place.   At THRIVE, things are done a little differently.

As a Naturopath, Clinical Nutritionist, and Functional Medicine Practitioner, It`s my mission to help you to regain balance by combining the best of both science and nature.

I offer consultations from two clinic locations - one in the heart of the Sherwood Forest region of Nottinghamshire, and the other at the prestigious Hale Clinic on Harley Street, London, renowned for its excellence in integrative health.
For those based elsewhere, Zoom consultations are available, and all testing can be arranged wherever you are in the UK.

I don`t just look at symptoms, I use my professional experience and diagnostic testing to get to the root cause of those symptoms.
As a passionate advocate of natural health, I believe in using holistic remedies, nutritional supplements and dietary changes to support your optimal wellness and bring your body some balance.

Although it might not feel like it at the moment for you, the human body always wants to regain it`s balance and this can be done to a large extent under the right conditions. I use this principle to support and promote the body's natural healing process.

"I`ve been told everything is normal, yet I still feel dreadful"

Does this sound familiar?

You may have been tested in the past and been told that your results are "normal" yet you still feel unwell.
Normal ranges indicate that you are of an acceptable level in a certain test, based upon a national average.  But that national average doesn`t work for everybody.
It`s important to understand that just because your results fall within the "normal" range, it does not mean that you are functioning at your best.
There is a big difference between "normal" ranges and "optimal" ranges. In Functional Medicine, we strive to regain your body biochemistry to an optimal standard.

Optimal ranges indicate the best possible level for a given health marker and are based on a deeper understanding of the physiology and biochemistry of the body.
They take into account factors such as age, gender, lifestyle, and overall health.

These ranges are often much higher (or lower in certain tests) than standard testing you may have encountered before.  The goal of functional medicine is to achieve optimal health, not just to be within the normal range.
By focusing on optimal ranges, functional medicine practitioners strive to identify and address imbalances that may be contributing to health problems, even if they are within the normal range. This helps to promote wellness and prevent chronic health conditions from developing.

Who Do I Work With?
I`m available to discuss any health condition that may be concerning you.  I work with people with all sorts of problems, from digestive discomfort to hormonal imbalances and everything in-between. I see people of all ages and also have a busy children and teens clinic.

I regularly work with clients suffering from migraines, mood disturbances, fertility issues, skin conditions, aches and pains, exhaustion and fatigue, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, allergies, stress and anxiety, sleep disturbances and so much more.

If you would like to get to the root cause of your symptoms and learn to live more in tune with your body, I`m here to help.

Testing

I offer a broad range of advanced testing methods including blood tests, nutrient testing, hormone testing, blood-based allergy and intolerance testing, mineral and heavy metal toxicity analysis (via hair sampling), stool testing, SIBO breath testing and the DUTCH complete test.
I am proud to be affiliated with the UK`s leading laboratories.

By utilising these and other cutting-edge testing methods, I am able to gain a deeper understanding of your health and identify any imbalances or deficiencies that may be contributing to your symptoms

Stool tests not only look for pathogens but also assess the strength and diversity of the microbiome, which is the community of microorganisms that live in the gut and play a critical role in overall health.

They can look at the integrity of your digestive tract lining, your pancreatic function, assess for coeliac disease and so much more. They are an integral part of what I do because as Hippocrates once said:

"All disease begins in the gut".

Hair tissue mineral analysis tests check for heavy metal toxicity and assesses mineral levels, which can impact various aspects of your health, such as energy levels and mood. These are especially useful for mental health conditions.

Additionally, I offer IGG food intolerance testing and IGE allergy testing, which helps to identify food sensitivities and allergens that may be contributing to symptoms such as bloating, headaches, and skin issues.

A Quick Fix is Never a Good Fix

Regaining the body`s balance takes time, effort and patience.
There`s never a magic pill to regaining your health.  Often, a health condition has been a culmination of factors that has built up over many years. It takes time to unravel these factors and to begin to heal.  It is a process that has to be followed strategically and in a sequence which the body knows how to respond to.  As a rule, the longer you have been dealing with your health challenges, the longer it will take to re-balance.

Most people will start to feel much better within 2 - 4 months of working with me.  Some can take a little longer, some much quicker.  It`s important that you know that working with me is a process, and not a quick fix.

Your body is an amazing and remarkable thing.  It is constantly trying to protect you and maintain homeostasis, even though at times it feels as if it is the opposite. It is resilient and capable of regenerating better than we can imagine, if the conditions are right for it to do so.

"Take the first step in faith.
You don`t need to see the whole staircase.
Just take the first step."
